9th IWA Symposium on Off-Flavours in the Aquatic Environment

FlavorActiV’s Managing Director Richard Boughton will be presenting an oral paper at the IWA Symposium on Off-Flavours in the Aquatic Enviroment this weekend (13th – 14th August 2011). Richard will be Joined by Taster Management Adviser Marie Pohler during the weekend.

This year’s IWA Symposium on Off-Flavours is taking place in Aberdeen at the Robert Gordon University where many of the issues concerning sensory and consumer confidence in water will be discussed. Off flavours in water is still a hot topic in the water sensory industry, where effective sensory practises can help detect a significant range of taints and off flavours that have been imparted to water  that can cause many problems.

Richard’s paper is ‘Sensory proficiency testing, validation and training of tasters to detect off flavours in source water’ and will demonstrate how effective taster training and management can bring improvements into the consumer and utilities industry.
